Student Led Conferences

We had to prepare our Learning Sample Folders to share with our parents at the conference.
Some of the samples were: the Year 6 children had to write about Optimist Yachting and the Year 5 children had to write about Taradale Primary School (TPS), Math, PE, My Learning and Learning I am proud of and Learning we had to improve.

We also included some self assessments. We use Managing Self arrows to learn how to manage our own learning. If we have time we can show our parents some learning that we choose.

We practiced with our learning friends and we got to choose a friend to practice with as well.

We come to the conference with our parents and share this learning. We felt confident and a little nervous.

Some of our learning this Term

We have been learning to add impact to our writing.

We are using managing self arrows to keep track of how well we manage ourselves with our learning. We try to advance through the steps. (different coloured arrows)

For our mathmatics we have a knowledge ladder. We have 53 steps of different numercy knowledge that we have to learn. We also have a big 100 test in each of the 4 maths operation (+ - x / ). We have to get 98/100 or higher in 5 minutes to pass and go up a step. For the big 150 we get 7 1/2 minutes to complete it.

In our art we have produced some art called 'Taking a dot for a Walk.' We start with our eyes closed and our pencil in the middle of the sheet of paper, then we put the index finger on our nose and travel around our head. We were learning to cooordinate colours when we coloured it in. Check out our photos of this art.
